There is a question I keep returning to when I write The Consent Chronicles: if a painful memory could be changed to spare someone suffering, who has the right to consent?

It sounds simple until I imagine the person living with that memory. Pain is not the only thing it carries. A memory can hold a name, a promise, a love, a warning, a piece of the self. To take it away, even gently, might ease one wound and open another.

I don’t think care gives one person ownership of another person’s inner life. If a choice touches someone’s memory, the choice should remain theirs. They should be able to say yes, no, or not yet, and to change their mind.

This question moves through all three books in The Consent Chronicles. I won’t give away where it leads. I can say it keeps reminding me that freedom begins in small, personal places, in the thoughts and memories we are asked to trust.

If you would like to explore the series and my other books, they’re all here: https://alex-newman.author-pages.com/books

Four books, four ways into a world where one choice can change everything. Each story begins with a question. Here are four spoiler-free glimpses.

MANGO
Seven months after Daniel's death, a message arrives from his phone. Leah follows it into a world of stolen identities and impossible second chances, where getting the man she loves back may cost more than she can bear.

MORE THAN THE PAST · THE CONSENT CHRONICLES, BOOK 1
Vittorio wakes more than a century after his own life, with no memory of who he was. He can see a decision seconds before it happens. To find his past, he must discover who has been choosing for him.

MORE THAN POWER · THE CONSENT CHRONICLES, BOOK 2
A war begins before anyone admits it has started. Med faces an enemy that can make a choice look as though it was already approved. When consent itself becomes a weapon, every order carries a hidden cost.

MORE THAN TIME · THE CONSENT CHRONICLES, BOOK 3
A decision can be shared. Its consequences cannot. The trilogy closes where its deepest questions have always lived: with memory, love, and the right to say yes, no, or not yet. Begin the series with More Than the Past.

Explore all four books on the Books page.
